Quality Assurance for a Talent Management & HR Company

We were approached by a client — a top European HR & talent development company — to perform quality assurance services on their web application. The company was constantly improving its product and rolling out new features, so it needed to make sure that every new feature was working as intended and that the overall performance of the product lived up to the requirements.

One of the biggest challenges of this project for our team was the lack of documentation regarding the product, which meant our QA engineers had to identify the specifics and problems of the product on their own. Our goal was to test both the functionality of the application and its user interface, especially with the addition of new features.


Since there was no documentation at the beginning of the project, our team was constantly communicating with the client’s team of developers about the product’s initial build and any changes made in the product. Regular communication proved to be crucial throughout the project and allowed both parties to be up-to-date about any developments.

To ensure the application’s correct performance both on web and mobile platforms, we used functional testing. Moreover, we implemented regression testing to see how the changes in the product’s core affected its performance. Other types of testing we used on this project include:

  • Localization testing — since the product is designed for multiple markets, our goal was to check whether it conformed to the unique requirements;
  • UI testing — we looked at the visual aspects of the application and how easy it was for the user to perform the necessary actions;
  • Exploratory testing — this allowed us to take a more detailed approach and make sure that even the smallest issue doesn’t go unnoticed.

Our work on this project is ongoing and is currently in its support stage. Over several months of working on the project, we helped the customer locate and fix the biggest issues with the product. We used a variety of tools to discover and document the bugs and other problems within the application to give the client a clear idea about the product’s strengths and weaknesses.
Using our discoveries and suggestions, the client was able to achieve a steadier performance of the application and get rid of any obstacles that prevented it from fulfilling its business goals. In the future, we may also include automated testing in our QA process for this project to make it even more efficient and thorough.
