Our main challenge was to review and update existing test cases in the scope of this project prior to executing them. We had to review test cases for both bug fixes and smoke verification, check their consistency, and make necessary updates. All of that, including executing those tests and documenting new bugs, had to be done within a short period of time. 

The client approached us to perform quality assurance on the product over six years ago, when the solution had a bare minimum of functionality and was in its early stages. Our team was tasked with automating the tests from the ground up, which is a challenge of its own, as there were barely any contributions from the manual QA team to base our work upon. Other key objectives and challenges for this project included:

• Developing a comprehensive testing strategy from scratch, given that there was little to no documentation at the start of the project;
• Creating in-depth integration tests to check how the core solution interacts with additional products it’s paired with;
• Finding an effective way to work with large databases that are constantly getting bigger;
• Checking how accurately the application calculates the time and money spent on cloud services within one event;

Providing QA services for Fintech and Banking solutions comes with extra responsibility, as we are operating with apps that will further process security-sensitive data. Here is the scope of work we were hired to do in this project:

• Establishing QA workflow and developing needed test-related documentation from scratch;
• Testing app’s security and high-performance level prior to the next round of work with sponsors;
• Support and continuous QA for new features and significant releases; 
• Ensuring correct operation of the KYC client identification service;
• Covering the testing load, freeing time for the product owners before the critical release.

When our client for this project, a European mobile banking service provider, was preparing to expand their business globally and venture into new markets, they approached our company with a request to test the quality of their hardware and software systems.

The main system in question was a mobile Point of Sale solution that allows businesses to perform transactions and access a range of other sales-related services with a convenient, all-in-one product. Our main task was to conduct a thorough check of the hardware terminal, as well as its connection to the mobile application and the performance of the application in different environments. The mobile POS system was intended to be used by millions of businesses across Europe, so our job was to make sure that the systems are robust and configuration reliable. Specifically, we had to check:

• The correct operation of the hardware terminal
• The stability of the connection between the terminal and the application
• The performance of the whole solution under various conditions

We were approached by a client — a top European HR & talent development company — to perform quality assurance services on their web application. The company was constantly improving its product and rolling out new features, so it needed to make sure that every new feature was working as intended and that the overall performance of the product lived up to the requirements.

One of the biggest challenges of this project for our team was the lack of documentation regarding the product, which meant our QA engineers had to identify the specifics and problems of the product on their own. Our goal was to test both the functionality of the application and its user interface, especially with the addition of new features.

A company that provides off-the-shelf business management software reached out to us in order to get their website tested. Since they were looking for a fast-functioning site that introduces potential leads to their product and intuitively guides visitors to request a demo, we had to test everything from the way the website looks to how it responds to unusual user behavior. Other than that, we were required to automate certain processes for future QA checks.

The key challenge we faced here was the inability to implement a code freeze strategy in the project course. We were forced to test the product during an ongoing development process, which means we had to be beyond attentive and careful with quality assurance. The development team working on the client side was adding new functions to the parts we already tested making us test it all over again. This made the testing process a bit more complicated than usual, but our team did not let it affect the end result anyway.

TestFort’s team was involved in every stage of the development process. We had to check all parts of the platform, including its internal processes, compatibility with different operating systems, and user-experience capabilities. As the platform has a heavy-load traffic, we needed to test its speed and performance under the workload pressure and through different devices. Also, since the application has several options for its usage, we had to check it within the different roles and user access, ensuring high data protection and security.
