UI / UX Testing

The client was in the middle of developing an innovative web clinic management system. Since it was a very complex piece of software with a considerable number of roles (including patients) and rich functionality for efficient management and analytics, the client requested TestFort to provide them with an entire dedicated team of expert quality assurance engineers to help them avoid accumulating tech debt and make certain the project didn’t face any critical bugs or blockers.

Spotless software quality is integral for all types of software projects and all industries, but there are few industries where it’s as critical as in healthcare. With so much riding on the performance, speed, availability, and accuracy of medical software, the importance of timely testing is not really up for debate. This is the notion we carry through all of our healthcare-related projects and that we also turned out to share with our client for this project.

At the time of the request, the client had three development teams responsible for three different functional sections. The software development process was very intense, and the project didn’t have enough testing capacity in-house to support such active development. To improve productivity on the project and expand their testing capabilities, the client requested our company to provide experienced QA engineers who would augment their team. 

The key challenge of the project was the sheer amount of components that needed to be tested with maximum precision for a particularly demanding industry and establishing smooth communication between all the participants working on the project.

Our client, the owner of a Japan-based crypto trading platform, released a modernized version of his web application and wanted us to thoroughly test it. The aspects we were to check included UI/UX, blockchain platforms integration, security, and the app’s response to even the most unusual case scenarios.

The main challenge we faced during the project was the technical complexity of cryptocurrency trading platforms backend. Before getting to work, we had to examine not only the client’s product but the third-party solutions like Ethereum and Stellar integrated with it. Also, the client’s project had no documentation, so we created it from scratch both for the QA process and as a part of post-development maintenance. 

The solution was developed so that doctors could easily track patient medical history, make recommendations and appointments to visit other doctors in the hospital, and give nurses all the information they need to work with patients. Patients and caregivers could then use their own interface to navigate to their appointments and see details of their prescriptions. 

This meant that every function, UI element, and interaction on the website had to be intuitive, secure, and stable. As the companions would be used by everyone working at and visiting the hospital, it was important for the client to create a positive first impression, and give both patients and doctors the tools they need to be healthy and provide healthcare services.

The project was at the implementation stage, so our testing team had to work closely with the client’s in-house developers to help them get their project ready for its first release. We were tasked with testing the web-clinic interface as well as the client and doctor admin panel/portal.

A London-based cybersecurity startup approached TestFort with a request to help them optimize the antivirus solution they were building. Since the antivirus software was built using innovative encryption-based security technology, the company wanted us to make sure everything functioned as intended and the solution was free from any usability flaws or UI inconsistencies.

The client approached TestFort looking for a dedicated testing and QA team for their print-on-demand mobile application. The company was gearing up for rapid growth and a significant expansion of their product line, and it was important that the same, high level of product quality was maintained even during the faster release cycle.

The service is constantly rolling out new items to its print shop, allowing users to print on well over 1k different physical products with over 1 million different design and layout options. That means that we no longer have to regularly test the existing products and functionality, but also quickly react to the changes to maintain a steady release cycle.

Moreover, since the client’s service was available as an iOS and Android application, among other things, the team had to conduct testing across multiple platforms, operating system versions, and physical devices. 

We had to recreate and optimize an existing iOS application for Android devices. The client provided us with existing iOS application giving full access to its source code. We had to thoroughly review it to understand key algorithms and to write the same application for Android. The application had to be feature-packed but also easy-to-use to tackle all user needs.

TestFort’s team was involved in every stage of the development process. We had to check all parts of the platform, including its internal processes, compatibility with different operating systems, and user-experience capabilities. As the platform has a heavy-load traffic, we needed to test its speed and performance under the workload pressure and through different devices. Also, since the application has several options for its usage, we had to check it within the different roles and user access, ensuring high data protection and security.
