Functional Testing

Manual and Automated QA for a Memorabilia Manufacturer

By the time we joined this project, the client had been working with a team of manual QA engineers for some time. This resulted in over 10,000 test cases, accumulated over several years, being stored in Google Spreadsheets. So this became our first big task on the project — to move the documentation to TestRail for more effective prioritization and maintenance. Other objectives included:

  • Validating all 10,000+ test cases to select the most relevant ones
  • Analyzing the existing user scenarios
  • Choose around 700 test cases for future automation
  • Take over smoke and regression testing from the manual QA team

QA for POS Hardware & Mobile Banking Application

When our client for this project, a European mobile banking service provider, was preparing to expand their business globally and venture into new markets, they approached our company with a request to test the quality of their hardware and software systems.

The main system in question was a mobile Point of Sale solution that allows businesses to perform transactions and access a range of other sales-related services with a convenient, all-in-one product. Our main task was to conduct a thorough check of the hardware terminal, as well as its connection to the mobile application and the performance of the application in different environments. The mobile POS system was intended to be used by millions of businesses across Europe, so our job was to make sure that the systems are robust and configuration reliable. Specifically, we had to check:

  • The correct operation of the hardware terminal
  • The stability of the connection between the terminal and the application
  • The performance of the whole solution under various conditions
  • The compatibility of the

Manual Testing of a Portable Smart Router

A hardware startup from California, United States requested our help with quality assurance & testing on their project. Our main task was to conduct comprehensive testing of the wireless smart router and related software, including mobile application, backend, and analytics system.

In addition, the client needed us to establish an efficient QA process on their project. At the time of the request, there were no QA engineers on the client’s in-house team, so everything was tested by the developers themselves. The client wasn’t happy with neither the time, nor the results of such testing.

Commercial Website for a Software Provider

A company that provides off-the-shelf business management software reached out to us in order to get their website tested. Since they were looking for a fast-functioning site that introduces potential leads to their product and intuitively guides visitors to request a demo, we had to test everything from the way the website looks to how it responds to unusual user behavior. Other than that, we were required to automate certain processes for future QA checks.

The key challenge we faced here was the inability to implement a code freeze strategy in the project course. We were forced to test the product during an ongoing development process, which means we had to be beyond attentive and careful with quality assurance. The development team working on the client side was adding new functions to the parts we already tested making us test it all over again. This made the testing process a bit more complicated than usual, but our team did not let it affect the end result anyway.

Health Clinic Companion

The solution was developed so that doctors could easily track patient medical history, make recommendations and appointments to visit other doctors in the hospital, and give nurses all the information they need to work with patients. Patients and caregivers could then use their own interface to navigate to their appointments and see details of their prescriptions.

This meant that every function, UI element, and interaction on the website had to be intuitive, secure, and stable. As the companions would be used by everyone working at and visiting the hospital, it was important for the client to create a positive first impression, and give both patients and doctors the tools they need to be healthy and provide healthcare services.

The project was at the implementation stage, so our testing team had to work closely with the client’s in-house developers to help them get their project ready for its first release. We were tasked with testing the web-clinic interface as well as the client and doctor admin panel/portal.

Quality Assurance Services for an Antivirus Startup

A London-based cybersecurity startup approached TestFort with a request to help them optimize the antivirus solution they were building. Since the antivirus software was built using innovative encryption-based security technology, the company wanted us to make sure everything functioned as intended and the solution was free from any usability flaws or UI inconsistencies.

Global Print on Demand Service

The client approached TestFort looking for a dedicated testing and QA team for their print-on-demand mobile application. The company was gearing up for rapid growth and a significant expansion of their product line, and it was important that the same, high level of product quality was maintained even during the faster release cycle.

The service is constantly rolling out new items to its print shop, allowing users to print on well over 1k different physical products with over 1 million different design and layout options. That means that we no longer have to regularly test the existing products and functionality, but also quickly react to the changes to maintain a steady release cycle.

Moreover, since the client’s service was available as an iOS and Android application, among other things, the team had to conduct testing across multiple platforms, operating system versions, and physical devices.

Application for viewing scientific posters

We had to recreate and optimize an existing iOS application for Android devices. The client provided us with existing iOS application giving full access to its source code. We had to thoroughly review it to understand key algorithms and to write the same application for Android. The application had to be feature-packed but also easy-to-use to tackle all user needs.

Software Testing for MyFitnessPal

We needed to test the functionality of the service along with its interface. TestFort team had to make sure the counter performs fast and easy, even during peak loads. Testing services for Distractify

TestFort’s team was involved in every stage of the development process. We had to check all parts of the platform, including its internal processes, compatibility with different operating systems, and user-experience capabilities. As the platform has a heavy-load traffic, we needed to test its speed and performance under the workload pressure and through different devices. Also, since the application has several options for its usage, we had to check it within the different roles and user access, ensuring high data protection and security.
